Match report Tranent and Preston Village CC earned their third win of the season with a convincing 7 wicket victory at Linlithgow in ESCA division 3.

The visitors started well with Adam Forsythe (2-10) taking two early wickets in consecutive balls. Linlithgow rallied somewhat but were pegged back by some accurate bowling by Kuntal Mukherjee (2-10) and particularly by Dougie Russell (5-7) who bowled superbly to pick up a five wicket haul. However, a brilliant fielding display also helped, with a spectacular one handed diving grab by Paul Dance and a sharp take at slip by Adnan Noor Ali all contributing to restricting the hosts to 62 all out.

In their reply Tranent and Preston Village never looked in too much trouble despite losing two early wickets. Patient knocks by James Nicolson (23) and Scott Russell (20 Not out) saw them home with 15 overs to spare.
