Introduction to Umpiring

This introductory course is an interactive two-hour course aimed at those in junior coaching roles, adult playing members and those who wish to start out on the umpiring pathway. It is also a requirement for all CSL teams to send 2 candidates to the course.

 

The course syllabus focuses on the key themes of:
• Umpire positioning
• No Balls and wides
• LBW
• Methods of being out
• Umpire signals

 

There is no exam but all attendees will receive a certificate.

 

This year we will be running two courses for those interested to attend before the start of the season. The courses will be at the following venues:

 

Intro to Umpiring Course 1
-          Carlton CC
-          Tuesday 8th April, 7-9pm

 

Intro to Umpiring Course 2
-          Grange CC
-          Monday 14th April, 7-9pm

 

The cost of this course is a minimal £5 per candidate to help cover the course costs.
