Tranent and Preston Village Cricket Club

Tranent CC were astounded recently when The Cricketer magazine contacted them to announce that the club had won the GM Cricket Club of the Year. Club President Amjad Shaikh confirmed this was a fantastic honour for the club given that Tranent are the first Scottish winners of this UK magazine competition.

Amjad noted that this would encourage the club to develop and progress over the next few years as UK-wide recognition has made a few people take note of what can be achieved if a club works together. Although the club has achieved much since it's formation in 2010 Amjad confirmed there is still much to do in providing the club a solid foundation for the future and that the club will continue to welcome new players of any ability, age or sex.
