Tranent and Preston Village Cricket Club

All 3 of Tranents league sides matches were cancelled this weekend but luckily for TCC Edinburgh South were looking for a friendly match as their matches had been cancelled too. With heavy rain on Friday at looked as though there would be no cricket at all, but Saturday came and it was a bright sunny day.

A TCC XI traveled to the Inch to take on Edinburgh South 3rd XI. TCC posted a very competitive score of 170. Edinburgh south reached to total with one ball and two wickets to spare. The game went right down to the wire and was played in great spirit. The top run scorers for TCC were Scott Russell 63, Neil McMillan 33 and Karthick Srinivasan 17. The pick of the bowlers were Adnan Noor Ali 2 for 11, Ollie Picken 2 for 18 and Gary Findlay 2 for 27.

On Tuesday the 4th XI take on Dunbar at the TCG, S&N Tranent will travel to Roseburn to take on the Botanics on Thursday. the league games this weekend see the 1sts take on second place Edinburgh a win will secure the league title for the Belters, the 2nd XI play Morton at the Meadows and the 3rds host Stirling at Cavalry Park.
